I have been working in the field of autoimmunity for the last 14 years.  My time in private practice and as an Integrative Dietitian at the Seattle Arthritis Clinic at Northwest Hospital/UW Medicine has introduced me to thousands of people with a variety of autoimmune conditions including inflammatory arthritis (RA, Psoriatic), connective tissue diseases, Fibromyalgia and Spondyloarthropathy, among others.  As with any condition, everyone is different in terms of what is driving their autoimmunity.  I employ multiple types of therapeutic diets for these conditions based on the individual and their co-existing symptoms.   I always consider nutritional, digestive as well as mind-body wellness factors as the driving forces in most of these conditions. What we eat, how we digest, how we manage our daily stressors, our ability sleep, nutritional deficiencies, environmental response, weight factors and more can all have an enormous impact our immune response.
