facilitating change in your nutritional health

Yes.  Telephone consults can be scheduled and conducted just like an in-office session.  Any long distance fees will be at the client’s expense.   Unfortunately, insurance plans will not cover this service.

Emailing is a great way for clients to get their nutrition-related questions addressed by a reliable source.   It is helpful to those who do not want or need to commit to a full session.  Simply email me your question(s) and I will provide a response within 24 hours.

The initial session is the time for me to become familiar with your issues and goals.   This process requires additional time to develop an individual plan of action.  Follow-up sessions are limited to 50 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depends on your individual goals.  Those interested in identifying food sensitivities should plan on at least two to three sessions, while those interested in weight loss will likely need ongoing sessions to address individual barriers.

Do you offer consultations over the telephone?

Yes.  I will provide home consultations to those who cannot travel to the Lake Union location.  Travel is limited to Greater Seattle and east side areas including Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Lynnwood and Woodinville.  Regular rates apply, but a $75 additional fee will be charged to cover travel time and costs.  Insurance plans will not cover this service.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes.  I accept Regence, Premera, Aetna, Lifewise and First Choice insurance plans, but ask that you contact your insurance provider for coverage details prior to making an appointment.  Be aware that many issues are not covered (for example, weight loss), while other related conditions might be (i.e. diabetes, IBS, high cholesterol.), so it’s important to ask what conditions are covered under your plan.  Other important questions to ask:  If and how many sessions with RD’s are allowed in a calendar year, the percentage of the visit covered, whether your deductible has been met, and whether a referral from a physician is needed.  Please be aware that any session fees rejected by the insurance company or deductibles not yet met will be the responsibility of the client.
